Combinatory play: the don-mon-ster (two)

The word Anathema has paradoxical meanings. It can be used as a description of being shunned or something that is considered evil.
It can also be used to describe the opposite, an offering to a deity or god, sometimes in the form of a sacrifice to those gods.
When the word was applied to those who performed levitation to offer the self to a deity or god as a form of spiritualized paganism or early christianity, it was considered witchcraft.
The 20th century has created a game out of it called Light as a Feather Stiff as a Board.

Combinatory 5D script #2 Anathema: Light as a Feather Stiff as a Board

With no less than five friends, choose one friend to be the leader, and one friend to lay like a plank, with at least three friends to sit cross legged around them in a circle. The leader should make a quiet safe space for the friend who will be lying in the center so that they feel comfortable enough to close their eyes and relax. There should be no blankets, only flat rugs or hardwood, and no bunched up fabrics.
Sit in a circle facing each other, and close enough to the center person to reach with the tops of your fingers but no closer. At least one person with one hand on either shoulder and at least one person on each side of the person’s lower torso with each hand placed carefully about one foot apart.
When everyone has become quiet and at peace, the leader reminds everyone to focus gently on the position of your eyes. Recognize that the space around you is safe and calm. Gently notice the position of your body. Adjust your body so that you can reach the person laying on the floor in front of you.  Carefully slide all four fingers from each hand under the person laying in front of you making contact with their body and the floor with your fingers only. Everyone should close their eyes.

At the instruction of the leader, the person on the floor should be instructed to close their eyes and imagine what it must feel like to be dead. Imagine the body is completely stiff. Totally stiff and unable to move. Instruct the person on the floor to relax their toes and feet, while still imagining how stiff and light they continue to feel. Relax your feet and calves and feel the light stiffness you are beginning to feel. Relax your legs and torso. Feel your body begin to lift as it becomes so stiff and light. Relax your torso and chest and feel you whole body beginning to lift off of the floor, as light as a feather, and as stiff as a board. Now relax your chest and head, and feel your shoulders and upper body completely relax. As you relax your whole body is feeling lighter and lighter. And now relax your arms and hands and feel your whole arm including your fingers give way to this soft lightness. Your whole body is feeling light as a feather and stiff as a board.
As you continue to feel light as a feather and stiff as a board you can hear me counting down from ten to one. As I count down, you will become more and more relaxed, lighter and lighter, stiffer and stiffer. 10…you are feeling so light and are feeling more and more relaxed as I count down more and more light…8… you are feeling lighter and stiffer, 7.. so light and so relaxed.. 6 even more relaxed..5..even more relaxed…4…as I count down your body is becoming the lightest it has ever been…3…and even lighter and even stiffer…2…and light as a feather stiff as a board….1 and light as a feather stiff as a board
At this time, everyone in the surrounding circle should repeat light as a feather stiff as a board light as a feather stiff as a board over and over in a calm careful manner. After chanting light as a feather stiff as a board ten times the group should slowly attempt to lift the person from the ground with only using their fingers without stopping the chant.

Controlling ones mind is key in this point because the magical results can truly mystify someone unfamiliar with the experience. Always consider the well being of the person who you are levitating. They have been placed in a trance state and cannot help themselves unless released from the trance.

Continue the levitation until people are satisfied with the conclusions, and slowly lower the person down to the floor. The leader should then say as I count up from 10 to 1 you will slowly be released from this trance and feel happy and healthy. 10…feeling alive and well…9…wiggle your toes…8…move your hands and arms…7 and 6…you are feeling more and more alive and healthy and 5 and 4 and 3 as you feel alive and back to the world of the living…2 and 1…and you are released.

As a side note, I recently discovered that people enjoy feeling like Violet Beaureguard from the movie Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. She is the character that slowly swells to a giant sized blueberry because she eats the blueberry gum. There are whole websites dedicated to the process of imagining yourself filling slowly with blueberry juice until you come close to an explosion like an ever expanding blueberry.
